Gary- I've really enjoyed all those photos from your trip to Portugal. My father was stationed there for three years as a US Diplomat in the early seventies while I was in college and I spent summers and winter breaks there. It is such a beautiful country. (By the way, those are not ibis, they are storks. Ibis are smaller and have curved bills. Stork nests are common throughout both Spain and Portugal. They migrate up from Africa.)

Thanks for reading Phil. Indeed a beautiful country. I've had a couple people tell me these are storks so I changed it above.

Hey, aren't you supposed to be out in the desert riding a camel? Is it tricky typing on the iPad while bouncing on that desert creature? Asking for a friend...in other news, a new subscriber unsubscribed after this post. Must've hated Silves.

Off the camel, climbed a huge hill (switchbacks) in the heat to see an abandoned village with the largest and best Granary in Northern Africa. Pics coming soon. It’s the 2nd Granary and 3rd abandoned village we’ve seen and by far the best. We had to work for it tho. Both Marna and I made it (!) An accomplishment. The rest were kind and patient with our pace. So worth it. We are slowly making our way to the coast. Fortunately all the Bozos on this Bus are of the same political persuasion so there’s gonna be a lot of nail biting and gnashing of teeth on Wednesday morning here (Tues nite there). XOXO
