Many of you know I am in Toronto right now as my wife is attending a conference sponsored by the American Association for Anatomy titled Anatomy Connected 2024. We are finding it somewhat amusing that this group would choose Toronto for a conference in March, although I do have to admit that a large swath of people are accustomed to FREEZING TEMPERATURES. I am reminded of those winter days and nights in LFK when my facial hair would be frozen with an icy buildup and tears would clink as they hit the sidewalk. My 34+ years in Tucson have changed my body chemistry such that my tolerance to 25 degrees or less is limited to grabbing some ice cream or popsicles out of the ol’ Frigidaire. So due to my trip and activities in the Northland, my post will be a bit shorter than usual.

The Republican-led House Oversight Committee's James Comer is once again clobbering his own face as he keeps desperately trying to prove a link between the president and his son's financial activities. It laughingly backfired on those rascally rapscallions as witness Lev Parnas, a convicted former aide to Rudy Giuliani, pretty much buried the accusers on the stand. When questioned by Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) about the media’s skepticism of Parnas’ claims that the Biden allegations were untrue and were promoted by corrupt officials and Russian agents, he said, “Most media groups — I’d probably say all, except for Fox and a few other right-wing media groups — didn’t want to take any of the information, and that aggravated Rudy Giuliani and John Solomon and other players. And the main group that it was being pushed through was Fox — Sean Hannity and some other media personalities over there. But then there was also other people that were doing the bidding for the Russians — people in Congress, like Sen. Ron Johnson, like Congressman Pete Sessions, who sits here right now.”
During the testimony he went on to say, “From shortly after my arrest on October 9, 2019 to now, I have been trying to share the irrefutable truth with you. the American people have been lied to by Donald Trump, Rudy Giuliani, and various cohorts and individuals in government and media positions. they created falsehoods to serve their own interests and undermine the strength of our nation. from November 2018 to October 2019, I was a key participant and a witness to numerous efforts to prove that Joe and Hunter Biden were linked to corruption in Ukraine. Rudy Giuliani, on behalf of then-president Trump, tasked me with a mission to travel the globe, finding dirt on the Bidens, so that an array of networks could spread disinformation about them, thus securing the 2020 election for Donald J. Trump … today I ask you to consider the following: in nearly a year traveling the world, and interviewing officials in different countries, I found precisely zero evidence of the Bidens’ corruption in Ukraine. no credible source has ever provided proof of criminal activity. The only information ever pushed on the Bidens in Ukraine has come from one source and one source only: Russia and Russian agents. the impeachment proceedings that bring us here now are predicated on false information spread by the Kremlin. everyone involved knew they were sharing lies.”

The Kansas Reflector reported that, to celebrate the 170th anniversary of the GOP, the Johnson County Republican Party held a fundraiser that featured rocker Ted Nugent and former Kansas Attorney General Phill Kline as the main attractions. The Johnson County GOP sold tickets to the event, which started at $100, and the state party promoted the event for weeks.
So, you ask? As if Ted Nugent weren’t enough to turn your stomach, it seems one of main events was an effigy of Joe Biden donning a “Let’s Go, Brandon” T-Shirt allowing the local attendees a chance to kick and pummel the dummy…dummies pummeling the dummy.

Due to the idiots that still think Fuckleroy won the 2020 presidential election, Arizona is having to take unprecedented precautions due to threats of violence. Arizona’s secretary of state, Adrian Fontes, now has his own bodyguard as election officials are no longer faceless bureaucrats just trying to do their jobs. Fontes said, “It’s a sad state of affairs that in a civil society, in one of the most advanced civilizations that anybody could have imagined, we have to worry about physical violence. Nobody knew who we were, what we did. It’s a little bit different now.” Arizona still has those MAGA mobsters hanging about; Kari Lake, Mark Finchem, Blake Masters, Abe Hamadeh. With friends like these…

Not to belabor the points I made in last Tuesday’s post concerning the MAGA takeover and the white Christian Nationalist movement to do away with everything the Democrats have accomplished in the last three years, Heather Cox Richardson’s post last night is one of her best. The leading paragraph reads ’In the past few weeks, Josh Kovensky of Talking Points Memo has deepened our understanding of the right-wing attempt to impose Christian nationalism on the United States through support for Trump and the MAGA movement. On March 9, Kovensky explored the secret, men-only, right-wing society called the Society for American Civic Renewal (SACR), whose well-positioned, wealthy, white leaders call for instituting white male domination and their version of Christianity in the U.S. after a “regime” change.’ Read the entire post to pop the eyes right outta your sockets. These folks are just coming right out and saying shit you won’t believe…
