Fuckleroy quotes to ponder on this Memorial Day:
"I don't get it. What was in it for them?"
“Why should I go to that cemetery? It’s filled with losers.”
“He was a war hero because he was captured. I like people who weren’t captured.”
“I would be willing to swear on anything that I never said that about our fallen heroes. There is nobody that respects them more. No animal — nobody — what animal would say such a thing?”
I’ll be posting a series of various elections to be aware of as we edge closer to November. Simon Rosenberg’s post last week lists who he considers the most important candidates in the country to flip the House. Besides the two Arizona candidates I discuss below, he also mentions others who stand a good chance to flip to blue: Adam Gray, CA-13, Rudy Salas, CA-22, George Whitesides, CA-27, Will Rollins, CA-41, Sue Altman, NJ-07, Laura Gillen, NY-04, Mondaire Jones, NY-17, and Josh Riley, NY-19. Read his work…regarding the presidential race he says, the election is close and competitive, neither candidate leads or where they want to be, and we have a lot of work to do. We, however, have a better candidate, better arguments, a strong track record to run on and a far more powerful political machine. All of this is why I remain so fundamentally optimistic about the election.
Below I’ve listed the poop regarding the nine districts in Arizona. Rosenberg listed two Arizona candidates who have a chance to actually flip: Ruben Gallego in District 3 and Kirsten Engel in District 6. Perhaps there will be a miracle whereas Gosar and Biggs get dumped but I’ll be watching pigs fly first. An as an aside, when Marjorie Tayler Greene recently tweeted that Democrats are the "enemy within" and that our policies put "America last,” Gallego responded by writing, "I was trying to figure what type of pen to stab your friends with if they overran us on the floor of the House of Representatives while trying to conduct a democratic transition of power. So please shut your seditious, Qanon loving mouth when it comes to who loves America."
Arizona U.S. House candidates
District 1: (Need to flip)
R — David Schweikert (incumbent)
D — primary candidates: Andrei Cherny, Marlene Galán-Woods, Andrew Horne, Kurt Kroemer, Conor O'Callaghan, and Amish Shah. Tough call in the primary as there are some good folks running.
District 2: (Need to flip) District 2 is the largest district in the state and includes Flagstaff, Prescott, and Sedona)
R — Eli Crane (incumbent) Crane says he is Donald Trump's strongest supporter and "a faith-oriented, family man...pro-life, pro-second amendment, and unafraid to take a stand against cancel culture and the radical left.”
D — only one primary candidate: Jonathan Nez. Send him money!
District 3: Ruben Gallego is current officeholder but is running for U.S. Senate
R — three are running in the primary that I don’t feel like naming and you can’t make me
D — three primary candidates are Yassamin Ansari, Raquel Terán, Duane Wooten
District 4: (Need to keep Greg Stanton, the incumbent)
R — four are running in the primary whom I don’t feel like naming and you can’t make me

District 5: (Gawd, do we need to flip)
R — Andy Biggs (incumbent) Biggs, along with District 9’s Paul Gosar, played vocal roles in Trump’s bid to overturn the election.
D — only one primary candidate: Katrina Schaffner. Send her money!
District 6: (And Gawd, do we need to flip this one, too)

D — only one primary candidate: Kirsten Engel. In 2022, Ciscomani defeating Engel by only 1.4 percentage points. We can do this. Send her money!

R — only one primary candidate: Daniel Butierez
D — only one primary candidate: Raúl Grijalva
District 8: (Need to flip but this district is quite conservative)
