I’m excited to announce that I’ll be having my first gallery show in…I don’t know how many years. Sharon Holnback at the Triangle L Ranch in Oracle, Arizona, has graciously offered to feature my work in the Adobe Barn Gallery, a space I’ve always loved and have enjoyed viewing other artists’ work over the years.
I’ll be showing work that has mostly been created since 2020, the year of our pandemic (for the historical record). It will be up in time for the Oracle Artist Studio Tour Friday and Saturday, November 5 & 6, from 10-4.
And Save the Date of Saturday, November 12 from 2-5pm for the opening reception! I might bake some cookies. I do know it will be an interesting and eclectic mix of Oracle and Tucson folks having a good time. Here’s the invite created by Pati Katchur (an amazing artist and Vice President of Triangle L Ranch Inc.—she also says on her web site she’s NOT the Patricia Katchur who murdered her husband):
If you cannot make either of those events mentioned above, the show will be up until the end of the year (Saturdays 10-3 or by appointment). Here are a few works included in the show:
And here’s a photo Pati shot of me on the art path at last Spring’s GLOW at the Triangle L.
And on the music front, in early August I posted about the Carnivaleros Reunion Show to be held on the Congress Plaza stage, Saturday, November 26. We were originally going to have a three-piece horn section but it’s been whittled down to one…special guest Alex Flores (Bad News Blues Band, P.D. Ronstadt & the Company) will be on board.
Just to show that we are actually preparing for the show, here are a couple of semi-blurry snaps of the gang hard at work in my studio last week.
Spread the word about both of these events taking place in November!
Other music events include the monthly residency at Monterey Court with the Morpholinos. We play every last Thursday of the month (Since last Thursday in November is Thanksgiving, we’ll be playing Wed, Nov 23) starting at 6:30. Check us out! Please make reservations ahead of time…it’s free and it helps put both the band and the venue to know how many people to expect.
And I’m playing drums with Kevin Pakulis every Sunday at Borderlands Brewing Company from 2:30-5. We’re in our eighth year of this gig and it’s turned into quite the social scene. If you have yet to join us, please do
And now…
