Does it seem hot to you? Crikey. The last several Sunday Sessions at Borderlands Brewery have put us Tucson-ions to the test. We’re outdoors, where there are very decent misters draped over the courtyard, and most of us on stage are in the shade under umbrellas. And the hard core lovers of our long-standing gig just keep showing up! Literally a trial by fire.
Speaking of misting systems, Monterey Court has you covered in that regard. I’ll be doing a double there next week including the Morpholinos ‘Last Thursday-O-The-Month’ residency on July 28. (Happy birthday, brother Greg!) This will be our fourth gig with this new band and we’re having a blast onstage. We hope to see you there.
And then the night before, Wednesday, July 27, I’ll be helping to celebrate Don and Victoria Armstrong’s 50th Anniversary at Monterey Court. It will be a great line-up with Liz Cerepanya, Petie Ronstadt, Bill Rost, and Alvin Blaine. Don, Liz, and Petie’s voices are amazing together! On stage at 6:30.
So this is my 180th post since I started this thing a year and a half ago and this Friday will be the first time I won’t be posting the Dispatch as…I’ll be soaking in the smells, the air, the coolness of Whidbey Island for a long weekend! It will be the first plane ride since May of 2019.
In that spirit, here’s just a bit of what I might’ve posted this Friday…you know, the post I’m not posting…
The movement to reinstate President Trump has gone far beyond him — and now threatens the future of American elections. Read How ‘Stop the Steal’ Captured the American Right.
And one more from the Washington Post, and in reference to my first paragraph, on What extreme heat does to the human body. I hope you can see the post as it’s an interesting, interactive presentation.
And now…
First, where you are, it's a dry heat. Think about us! Have a great time seeing cima.
