It’s quite the busy week kicking off with my new band Dropped By Birds at the Tucson Hop Shop tonight (Tuesday!) from 6-8. There’s no cover, and along with the fine selection of brews, Ciao Down Pizza is right next door. We’ve cooked up a stew of moody Eastern European motifs, a taste of Zydeco, Tex-Mex, and swing. Come out and hang with us!
Then on Thursday the Morpholinos will be back at Monterey Court from 6:30-9. Also no cover and tasty food to be had while you listen or twitch to our obscure choice of covers. Make a reservation to ensure a good seat!
And it’s supposed to be in the mid-80s this coming Sunday making for a perfect day for ‘Church’ at Borderlands Brewing Company with the Kevin Pakulis Band. 2:30-5pm.
I have only made a half dozen pieces so far this year as it seems to take longer when I work small than it does with larger works. I often have two pieces on my table at a time, and these two were finished almost simultaneously.
I posted the piece below on Facebook and asked folks for help naming it. There were so many great ideas but the word ‘reticule’ stuck with me, suggested by my friend Liz McDonald. So I’m going with Reticule In Blue as the title.
And I just finished another in the ‘folded shirt’ series…Calvinist Cavalcade Camp.
And now…
