Before I jump into the last of January’s schedule, I penned a semi-instrumental titled Gina Lollobrigida for my 2nd CD (2005) Lost In the Graveyard. Gina died yesterday at the ripe ol’ age of 95. Players on the song are Mitzi Cowell, Marx Loeb, Chris Giambelluca, and Carla Brownlee. Also, the Gina choir was a group of middle schoolers who gathered and sang in the old Wavelab studio on Pennington. They were appropriately paid with eegee's (icy cold, silky smooth, fresh fruit packed iconic frozen treat, for you snow-bird types). Here’s the studio recording.
And here is a performance of the song at La Cocina from 2008 that features Mitzi, Chris, and Marx from the studio band along with Heather Hardy on violin and Michael P. On guitar!
And here are the six gigs I have yet to play this month if the crick don’t rise.

The Memorial for Charlene Rogers this Sunday was also supposed to include the amazing Anna Warr, who died earlier this week after a somewhat prolonged illness. Condolences to her family and friends. She will be truly missed.

And now…
Great Song. It must be fun to play something so dramatic and fun sounding.
"Gina Lollolbrigida" - my new favorite song!
