Putin is small and pale, so cold as to be almost reptilian. Putin is embarrassed by what happened to his country and determined to restore its greatness.
If we think of fascism as a wound from the past that had almost healed, putting Trump in the White House was like ripping off the bandage and picking at the scab.

Some Lawrence, Kansas trivia, where I resided from 1975-1989. In the late 70s I lived just south of 14th and Massachusetts in the first story of an antiquated two story home, since demolished. Just north of us, across 14th Street, was a store called Footprints, opening in 1978, which started out as a bike shop but specialized in carrying Birkenstocks. I may have wandered in once, but since I was never a Birk man, it went unnoticed for the most part.
Well, the store is still thriving and much of it due to the repair shop behind the store where, according to this article in the KCUR (NPR) Arts & Life section of their website, Birks are mailed from anywhere with a U.S. zip code to await personal attention. According to owner Mick Ranney, "Our repair shop is built in the shape of a church. People have relationships with these guys.”
Need your Birks repaired? Here’s the info you need.

Just a quick update on the start of another State Camp Shirt…state yet to be decided. It takes me about three days to prepare the armature, a process that’s the most difficult, before the fun begins with the broken ceramic parts.

Yes, I have to mention my repugnance for Republicans every Friday, at least for a minute. After Ted Cruz asked Ketanji Brown Jackson if she thinks babies are racist, with illustrations yet, actor Ron Perlman tweeted a video to Cruz saying “Hi Ted, Ron here. Listen, I know how tempting it is to appeal to the real lowest form of humanity here in the United States, the bottom feeders, people who pride themselves on hatred and un-education and inability to read and inability to understand the difference between true patriotism and the bullshit you’re selling. I know how tempting it is to play to those people because at least you have a base, but Jesus Christ Ted, for somebody with a really, really small dick, you get to be a bigger prick every fucking day. Go fuck yourself.”
And Charles Pierce piped up with I also heard so many Republican senators talking about child pornography that, honestly, one begins to become concerned. Hell, Cruz even got 10 of his colleagues to sign a letter demanding to see the pre-sentencing reports from the cherry-picked kiddie porn cases that they’ve all been enthusiastically entering into the Congressional Record so that future historians can ponder why a United States senator found it necessary, while questioning a Supreme Court nominee, to use the phrase, “prepubescent females” twice in one sentence.
Could this worm with presidential aspirations actually obtain the office? After Drumph, anything is possible.
As Lee Papa scribed, We are heading into the potential for a real nightmare, where the people that one party's leaders are trying to please are increasingly divorced from reality, where those fucking loons are getting elected, and where they try to impose that unreality on everyone else. We're seeing it in those voter fraud laws or anti-critical race theory laws or "Don't Say 'Gay'" laws, all existing to deal with problems that simply don't exist but feel like they exist to dumb people so fuck it, pass the laws. These are not politicians who give a fuck about the lives of anyone, child or adult. They are not serious people.
Since I’ve written twice in the last couple months about Ginni Thomas’ involvement with the January 6th attempt to derail governmental proceedings, I won’t belabor the point here. Suffice it to say she was in contact with White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows to pursue unrelenting efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election in a series of urgent exchanges in the critical weeks after the vote, texting “Help This Great President stand firm, Mark!!!...You are the leader, with him, who is standing for America’s constitutional governance at the precipice. The majority knows Biden and the Left is attempting the greatest Heist of our History.”
And speaking of the orange fluffer, just this week he pulled back his support for Alabama’s Mo Brooks and is on the hunt for some other candidate to betray. Said the sad mobster, “Mo Brooks of Alabama made a horrible mistake recently when he went ‘woke’ and stated, referring to the 2020 Presidential Election Scam, ‘Put that behind you, put that behind you,’ despite the fact that the Election was rife with fraud and irregularities. If we forget, the Radical Left Democrats will continue to Cheat and Steal Elections.” Radical Left Democrats…crikey.
And, just so you know, the New York Times reported that Mark F. Pomerantz, who had investigated the former president and left after the Manhattan district attorney, Alvin Bragg, halted an effort to seek an indictment, stating that the team that has been investigating Mr. Trump harbors no doubt about whether he committed crimes — he did.
Once again an even slimier worm slips through the cracks.

And in Tucson news, A new local food truck farm in Tucson called “The Pit” is changing the landscape of how small businesses operate in town. Amber Donahue has been fixing up 2.5 acres of land at the corner of 22nd and Pantano since last fall giving an old gas station that was once covered in graffiti a new purpose.
“Basically, we’re a food truck park with a beer and wine market behind you and then an open area common ground for people to come and eat and its well it at night,” Donahue said. "It came about from the pandemic, everything closed down, you couldn’t go out with your friends or family and people were missing connection. It's the one thing you can’t buy, and you can’t sell."
The Pit is open daily from 11am to 8pm with the grand opening today!

Interested in building your own Hobbit home?
Now you can. In October there will be a nine-day workshop in the rolling hills of Kansas, just south of Lawrence. It’s a group of folks calling their compound Domegaia, and their mission is to provide Earthlings everywhere with tools, trainings, and designs for building eco-elegant, high-quality, low-cost AirCrete structures.
What perked my interest as a closeted architect is the use of a material called AirCrete. According to this article (https://www.landzero.com/blog/aircrete-everything-you-need-to-know/) in the Land Zero website, In simple terms AirCrete is aerated concrete. Unlike traditional cinder blocks or concrete bricks, which have a high cost, heavy weight and are not ideal to make yourself or build a home with yourself. AirCrete blocks extend your concrete by a very large margin, reducing cost, making blocks lightweight, easy to work with and allowing DIY home possible.
Go forth and build, earthling.
