I would have more to offer this week but with a houseguest, two gigs, three recording sessions, squeezing in some art-making, a major decision, cleaning the toilet, and grocery shopping, it seems like pre-pandemic days.
After twenty years of writing and performing music using the Carnivaleros handle I’ve made a decision to retire the name and move on to other projects. A big thank you to the core players who filtered through the group over the years; (in alpha order) Björgvin Benediktsson, Carla Brownlee, Mitzi Cowell, Joe Fanning, Chris Giambelluca, Jeff Grubic, Heather Hardy, Karl Hoffmann, Hans Hutchison, Brett Knickerbocker, Larry Lee Lerma, Marx Loeb, Richard Medek, Les Merrihew, Teddy Morgan, Michael P Nordberg, Billy Yates, and Catherine Zavala.
(L-R) Me, Marx Loeb, Mitzi Cowell, Chris Giambelluca, 2010
I also want to thank the players who have contributed on the seven recordings over the years that were not involved in live gigging; (in alpha order) Don Armstrong, The Gina Singers: Emma & Tess Barrett & friends, Katherine Byrnes, Rebecca Carlson, Mike Coyle, Ed DeLucia, Connor Gallaher, Neil Harry, Kelley Hunt, Kelly Hunt, Landis Kearnon, Danny Krieger, Greg Mackender, Nancy McCallion, Michael Oliver, Rick Peron, Lynn Pillar, Mike Purdy, Dante Rosano, Marco Rosano, Tony Rosano, Sly Slipetsky, and Cristina Williams.
And, then there were the players who jumped on for a gig or two when I was in a pinch or as a guest appearance; (in alpha order) Nick Augustine, Alvin Blaine, Chad Bush, Jimmy Carr, Liz Cerepanya, Ed Davenport, Sabra Faulk, 'Mighty' Joel Ford, Ed Friedland, Sid George (RIP), Ralph Gilmore, Steve Grams, Jim Howell, Michael Joyal, Clay Koweek, John Penner, Dave Resto, Bev Seckinger, and Jay Trapp.
And, I would certainly be remiss if I did not mention the music lovers who have attended shows over the years and helped to support the band through the purchasing of CDs, either at the shows, online, or by downloading and/or streaming my music. And, my catalogue of music will still be easily accessed on various platforms.

I will be maintaining the website for some time and my main email is associated with the name. I will be posting here off and on with new and continuing musical projects so stay tuned!
And now for the plunge…
Love the picture of you and Mitzi! Looking forward to see what the future brings for all of us.
I am a newbie to the Carnivaleros sphere of influence. Only the past 5-6 years.
I am so sorry to see it over.
We had a few drinks- a couple of laughs. And now yer going home? What? Before anybody gets hurt?
‘Twas a ball. Tnx for all the tunes.
Forward ever.
