I finished my first piece of 2022 last week. It takes me a little over a month from start to finish to make the shirt pieces and I thought I’d share some images of the process. I cover the 1/2” foam core armature with lightweight, bendable metal mesh which then gets a light coating of quick-dry concrete. This is the first in a series of state ‘camp’ shirts, starting with California, which will give me work to do until THE END.

I’ve mentioned this before but I am fortunate to be represented by a gallery in Pittsburgh, PA. It’s called BoxHeart Gallery and it’s located at 4523 Liberty Avenue. They seem to really dig my Wire Sculptures which is actually helpful in that they are the easiest and lightest objects to ship. Since signing on with them in the fall they’ve sold six pieces thus far. The ones pictured below now live somewhere in Pennsylvania.
Late in arriving to the gallery today due to serious winter weather are the following:
Also just out of the chute, Marcy was born a couple days ago, Jam Session yesterday.
And, a couple of weeks ago I posted about an art opening at Revel Wine Bar on Feb 11. The place was packed full of happy people and I was fortunate to find homes for three of the five pieces from the Lost Sibling Series (shown below). All five pieces will remain in place through March if you want to check them out. Revel is at 416 E 9th St in Tucson. Many thanks to Robin Hunn for organizing the event!
All for now…gotta get back into my sanctuary.
And now…
Always a treat to have an update! You know we love your work, Meester!
I enjoyed the pictures of the shirt making process. More steps than I would have imagined.
