One of the best hires I ever made when I hired you, Gary! (can’t really name names of other hires I made during that period for reasons, well, you know… 😜) And I remember the 50th birthday party very well. It was spectacular. ❤️ you, Gary

Interesting stories ... our lives have cycles. June 30, 2004 was when I got my nonrenewal from the UA. Due to smart planning as a principal investigator, it was not my last UA paycheck. When the UA door closed, many other doors opened up by November 2004, when I bought my current house and landed the job as managing editor of a prestigious medical journal.
